Scratch Day 2010 – Washington, DC Area Scratch Fans
Archbishop Carroll High School, in partnership with FIRST Robotics and DCRobotics is inviting kids, parents, teachers and families to learn more about Scratch, the fun and free programming tool from MIT. You can stop by any time between 10 am and 4 pm on Scratch Day, May 22, 2010.
The event will also feature an exposition of robotics programs, including Junior FIRST LEGO League (Jr.FLL), FIRST LEGO League (FLL), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), VEX Robotics Competition and Sea Perch - underwater robotics.
Students are welcome to show and explain the Scratch creations they have made. Scratch is designed for students 8 years and older, although some younger students will enjoy using it, too.
For those who might not know, Scratch is a free computer programming resource that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art -- and share your creations on the web.
