IGED: Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day

TECH CORPS will collaborate with the Women in Engineering Program at The Ohio State University to offer Scratch workshops as part of the IGED event. Scratch workshops will be led by TECH CORPS volunteers.

Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) is hosted by OSU's Women in Engineering Program and sponsored by Ashland, Inc. IGED is a one-day career exploration event for 3rd through 6th grade female students interested in learning about the field of engineering. During IGED, participants will engage in a series of interactive, hands-on activities to explore engineering career options. This year’s IGED theme will be “Engineering the Ocean”. Participants will be involved in learning about engineering and technology by creating an underwater scene. They will also have an opportunity to interact with OSU female engineering students and industry members to learn more about engineering career options.
