Alejandro Gilberto Jiménez Espinosa Born in Mexico City in 1986. While completing high school studies in the National Preparatory School no. 3 of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) takes courses in metal and stone sculpture organized by the Chopo Museum and FARO de Oriente. In 2004, attracted by the use of new technologies in creative processes enters the undergraduate course of Design and Visual Communication in the National School of Plastic Arts (Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, developing skills in the areas of illustration, multimedia, digital animation and sculpture. In 2005 participates, together with students of the National School of Anthropology and History (Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia), forming the OhMoSaPienZ collective, in a transdisciplinary project including cultural and critical activities as well as producing ethnographies of marginal groups of the city, leading to the production of a documentary film La K-ye d la siuda d la speranza, which has been shown in various academic forums, art festivals as well as in public spaces as a demonstration of direct action.
The first approach towards the free hardware Arduino is experimented in a workshop given by David Cuartilleles in Mexico city in 2007, after which more knowledge on the subject is aquired during social service carried out in the Audio Department of the Multimedia Center in Centro Nacional de las Artes with Jaime Villarreal. At the moment working on his thesis, Uso de Software y Hardware Libre en la Creación de un Diseño Hipermedial (“The Use of Free Software and Hardware in the Creation of Hypermedial Design”). Participated in various competitions and convocatories obtaining 4th place with the installation Entrada al inframundo (“Entrance into the Afterworld”) in the second Installation Contest “Dia de Muertos” (Day of the Dead) organized by the Foundation of the Historical Center, and a mention of honor for the work Perpetuidad (“Eternity”) in the contest Escultura Mutatis Mutandis 2006 in Ciudad Universitaria. Collective participation in exhibitions in several occasions.
Since January 2010 take the place as computer clubhouse coordinator at Cultural Center FARO de Oriente in Iztapalapa, México City.
