We tried Scratch in our Computer Science 1 courses at ORT Uruguay University. The experimentation, results and some conclusions were presented at Scratch@MIT Conference in Boston (2008) and at FIE 2008. Based on that works, we decided to use Scratch in a different way. We implemented an extracurricular lab and offered the students a "hands-on" session. In our Scratch day we plan to include a Hands-on Workshop for beginners based on our own lab, and a Discussion session for teachers.
