Torbjorn Skauli holds a PhD in physics from the University of Oslo. He works at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment as chief scientist and group leader in the field of optics and imaging. Skauli is engaged in various science outreach activities and maintains the Norwegian translation of Scratch. In the 2011-2012 academic year, Skauli is a visiting scientist at Stanford University in the US.
